Obtaining a transport license for foreigners in Poland. How?

Poland is a European transport leader, and establishing a business here is an excellent business decision for carriers from France and the UK. You gain access to the EU market (including regaining it after Brexit), reduce tax costs by 16-24 percentage points, and benefit from a central European logistics location.

However, for citizens of other countries, the procedure with the General Inspectorate of Road Transport (GITD) can be an insurmountable barrier without professional assistance. Complicated forms, only in Polish, the requirement to have an operational base in Poland, the need to prove good reputation according to Polish standards, and providing a transport manager with a certificate of professional competence recognized in Poland – all of this requires excellent knowledge of regulations and experience in GITD procedures.

Our service is dedicated to investors and international carriers who want to legally reduce the costs of conducting transport operations in Europe. We specialize in serving companies from France (SARL, SAS, SASU), Great Britain (Ltd after Brexit) and other EU and non-EU countries.

We don't sell you a pig in a poke - we help your company navigate the entire legal and administrative process from A to Z. From registering a limited liability company, through gathering all the required documents (including certified translations of criminal record certificates from your country), organizing an operational base, securing a transport manager, and finally obtaining the Community License and vehicle certificates.

We act as your representatives with full legal representation - you plan your routes and develop your business, and we handle all the official formalities in Poland. You don't even have to come to Poland - the entire procedure can be completed remotely.

Why choose Poland as a base for your transport?

Your partner in international business – financial and operational benefits that you will not find in other EU countries

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the answers to popular questions about ready-made companies with a freight forwarding license

1. Do I need to live in Poland to get a license?

The company must have its registered office in Poland (the address of the registered office of the limited liability company registered in the National Court Register), but you, as the owner or shareholder, do not have to live here permanently or even stay in Poland during the procedure.

However, it is required to have a so-called operating base in Polish – a place where vehicles can be parked and maintained. What we help with comprehensively – we provide documentation of renting or lending space that meets the requirements of GITD.

Preparation and submission of a complete application by our team: 1 working day from the receipt of the basic documents from you (passport/ID, certificate of no criminal record from your country, information about the planned activity).
Administrative procedure at GITD: up to 30 calendar days in accordance with the Code of Administrative Procedure. In practice, thanks to the perfect preparation of documents, decisions are often issued faster – in 14-21 days.

GITD requires you to show equity or security of €9,000 for the first vehicle. For a new company that is just being established and has no financial history, the following options are available:

  • Share capital: You can register a limited liability company with a share capital of €9,000 (or more). The minimum capital in Poland is only 5,000 PLN (~1,100 EUR), but you can increase it to the required amount.
  • Carrier’s liability insurance: The most popular and cheapest option – you take out a carrier’s liability policy with a financial security clause for GITD. Cost: usually 300-600 EUR per year. The policy has a dual function – security for GITD + mandatory third-party liability insurance.
  • Bank guarantee: The bank issues a guarantee of EUR 9,000 to GITD. It usually requires the payment of a deposit or collateral (real estate, promissory note). Cost: Preparation fee + 2-4% commission per year.
  • Cash deposit: You deposit €9,000 into a reserved GITD account. Funds are locked for the entire duration of the license. It does not generate additional costs, but the capital does not work.

We help you choose the most optimal option for your situation and negotiate favorable terms with insurers/banks thanks to long-term cooperation.

  • European Court of Justice precedents confirm the right to choose tax jurisdiction in the EU
